1. Person wearing PLB8-LD ‘SOS®’ Personal Locator Beacon dives.

2. Diver has drifted out of sight during dive, or dive boat has mistakenly left without diver.

3. Diver activates Personal Locator Beacon & transmits ‘SOS’ homing signal on 121.5 MHz.

4. a. Self Managed Rescue. SARfinder® 1003 MKII Base Unit on Dive Boat receives ‘SOS’ signal from Personal Locator Beacon, Alarm is raised, SARfinder® 1003 MKII Tracks ‘SOS’ Homing Signal, diver is rescued.

4. b. Coast Guard Supported Rescue. Local SAR are radioed and requested to recover Lost Diver who is wearing a 121.5MHz PLB. SAR vehicles track 121.5 MHz Personal Locator Beacon Homing Signal Lost Diver is rescued.
