How does a Jetty, or Installation, Man Overboard System work?
Question:

The Jetty or platform from which crew are working has a Crewguard Man Overboard Alarm fitted into the control room, the Crewguard is connected to an external antenna to give extended coverage. In the event of a worker falling overboard the Crewguard automatically activates sounding its external siren, a Fast Rescue craft fitted with a SARfinder® 1003 MKII MOB locator unit is deployed to locate and rescue the Man Overboard. Because the Sea Marshall® PLBs interface with Coast Guard SAR the control room crew can if necessary contact the local Coast-Guard and request their assistance to locate the MOB.

How does a Remote or Unmanned Jetty, or Installation, Man Overboard System work?
Question:

The Unmanned Jetty or platform from which crew are working has a Crewguard Man Overboard Alarm fitted connected to an external auto-dialler (similar to a burglar alarm). The auto-dialler is pre-programmed with a number of priority contact telephone numbers who need to be notified immediately in the event of a Man Overboard incident. In the event of a crewman falling overboard the CG-121 MKII raises the alarm the auto-dialler automatically dials all the telephone numbers in sequence and the recipient hears a pre-recorded message such as “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY CALL, MAN OVERBOARD INCIDENT AT JETTY NUMBER ONE, PLEASE REPSOND IMMEDIATELY”. A Fast Rescue craft fitted with a SARfinder® 1003 MKII MOB locator unit is then deployed to locate and rescue the crewman. Because the Sea Marshall® PLBs interface with Coast Guard SAR the control room crew can if necessary contact the local Coast-Guard and request their assistance to locate the MOB.
